Truthfulness in Islam

 Islam is an authentic religion, it`s all teachings are geniune. Islam greatly emphasize on truthfulness in each and every field of life.

Truthfulness meaning and description

Truthfulness means to speak the truth and to deliver an authentic information.

To describe something that is true to life is truthfulness and a person who is truthful is said to be SADIQ

Importance

Islam after oneness and worship of Allah, emphasize on good characters. Truthfulness is the most important character among all as it is the origin of goodness.

Allah says in Holy Quran

" And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know" 

If a person speaks truth, this habbit stops him from the bad deeds. 

The statement of Holy Prophet (PBUH)

" You may find bad characters in a true believer except falsehood and dishonesty" 

This hadees describes that dishonesty and falsehood are worse than all the misdeeds.A true believer never compromises on truthfulness.Allah also loves those who are true in their words.

Allah says that

"O believers! keep the fear of Allah and be among those who are true"

Benefits

Hatred from falsehood and the importance of truthfulness can estimate by the event that a person came to Prophet(PBUH) and asked that O Allah`s Apostle! I have four bad habbits i.e stealing, drinking, fornication and falsehood. How could I get rid of them. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said only one thing that "stop telling lies" and  he promised. At night, his heart forced him to do all these things. He thought that what will I answer if Allah`s Apostle ask about this. If I will speak truth then I will be punishable and if not then I will break my promise. the next day when he came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said O Allah`s Apostle! my all bad habbits are fade away when I kept myself away from telling lies.

Try to be truthful in your social , personal and professional life. Islam also strengthen honesty in business as well. If you are honest in business then Allah makes your business vast and flourish. An honest trader has a unique status in Islam.

Statement of Allah`s`Apostle

" An honest trader will among the Prophets on the day of judgment "
